Last week was tough for leading momentum stocks with most selling down as money rotated from growth stocks into more defensive names as well as stocks in the Dow Jones Industrials. Last week could be just the start of more volatility to come for the next few weeks.

Stocks traded sideways on this last day of August, wrapping up the week modestly in the green and leaving the S&P 500 higher by 8.5% year-to-date.
